foot reflexology

A typical foot reflexology session at The Barefoot Healer begins with some light relaxation techniques, stretching, and general ‘warming up’ of your feet. Moving into the main part of the session, we’ll use several different methods, including direct pressure, stretching, holding, and other techniques to explore many different and specific areas and points on your feet.

Most likely, we’ll find that each point creates a sightly different response in your body. Some may be sore, achy, and ‘hurts so good’. Others will be very relaxing and enjoyable. As a general rule, we’ll give more attention to the reflex points that are more responsive and sensitive, whether the response is enjoyable or achy.

As we progress through the session, you and your body tend to experience deeper and deeper states of rest and rejuvenation. As we flow between points of relaxation and points of tension, your body, mind, and heart are given the space and attention they need to let go of the stress they’ve been carrying around for so long.

This healing process is unique to every single person, and every session may be different. In my experience, the less involved we get with your healing process the better. This means we simply watch what happens, watch what arises with each reflex point and within each session. You have a powerful innate healing capacity within yourself that, when simply acknowledged, is capable of seemingly miraculous things.

To end the session, we’ll allow for a few minutes of peaceful stillness so you can more clearly experience the changes happening in you and your body. Many clients find this to be their favorite part!

After your session, you may need some time to ‘come back’, or you may have questions you’d like to ask or an experience you’d like to share. I allow plenty of time in my schedule for you to share, ask questions, or simply sit in silence and ‘soak it up’.
